Read the direct responses from our past clients on our Testimonial page. NOTE: You will note that these directions are written specifically for TC2005 software and not for TCNet and Chart Navigator software. For instructions to install pcf's into TCNet and Chart Navigator software, you will have to refer to their respective help manuals since I personally use TC2005. All the formulas will scan for Candlestick Chart Patterns the same with TCNet and Chart Navigator software. The formulas DO NOT work with the real time version of TCNet for all formulas are written on a closing day basis and NOT for intraday charting.
The following instructions will give you your first pcf FREE, which will be the Single Candlestick Chart Pattern the White Marubozu. You may also download the full version ebook of the White Marubozu Single Candlestick Chart Pattern formula that contains detailed information and instructions for FREE so you can try out a formula to prove to you that they work! These instructions are for both new users to test out a pcf for the TC2005 Software and also for customers that have already purchased pcf's and need to learn how to install them. This is a demo version of what you can expect for all our pcf products so you may evaluate one pattern to be certain it will work correctly for all your needs prior to any purchases. For those that have already purchased a Personal Criteria Formula, just input that formula in place of the White Marubozu formula, which will be highlighted in green. Any area of these directions that you may want to choose a different name will be highlighted in dark red. Press the Personal Criteria Formula button at the top marked fx.
A new box will pop up marked "Name Criterion." Type
in the name for your new pcf, which would be
Marubozu White. I personally put the candlestick pattern name first, Click on OK and you will then get another window marked "Editing formula for Marubozu White." This name will be different based upon what name you named your pcf. Type in the following formula EXACTLY as it is written. (Extra spaces in the formula DO NOT make any difference since once you press "save" TC will fix any spaces to accept the formula for the program.)
This is the FREE Candlestick Chart formula for the White Marubozu. NOTE: Any other formula that you would have purchased for another Candlestick Chart pattern would go in this area. A common problem we get a LOT, is when there is a >= in the formula. The problem is that customers are adding a space in between these characters and then they get an error message that states, "Error in Formula Syntax." If you get this error message, be sure you DO NOT have a space between these two symbols. Upon downloading your formula, you will notice that there are many
variations included with different trend time frames that you could use.
Each formula that you decide to use must be installed separately following
these directions. In the example below you would have six different installations
with six separate formulas. I suggest naming each one you install with
the corresponding time frame of the associated trend along with any deviation
(if any). For example if you were installing the "Mat Hold bull"
pcf I would name the variations as: By installing the formulas in the above manner, each formula will stay alphabetically together in your list. You may have to create your own abbreviations since the named box has limited character spaces. Number six in the above may be abbreviated to look something like this, "Mat Hold bull w 3 up, lg cndl." If you are new to stock market investing or don't quite understand how to use, or why I would include so many variations, don't be alarmed. Each formula that is purchased comes with approximately four pages of explanations since so much of the stock market and related terms are subjective. Steve Nison and Gregory L. Morris wrote the best books on candlesticks for the most complete education. More information and titles of their books can be found on our main page on Japanese Candlesticks and they can be purchased at our Investment Bookstore. Click the "Save" button and you will still have a window on your screen marked "Personal Criteria Formulas." If you scroll through the box, you will be able to see your new pcf that you just created, and in this case the Marubozu White and they should all be in alphabetical order. If you do not find your new named scan in this list, then you may have left out a step so go back and start over again.
The Personal criteria will then scan all the charts for the new pcf you just created. When it is finished, close the remaining window after the scan is complete. Test for Correct Installation of "pcf" condition
Setting up an Advanced Scan for the New "pcf"
You will get a window called "Editing conditions for: New Easy Scan" which will show the default value of "Watchlist: All Items In System" and you should leave it at this setting.
This would be the time that if you wanted to add additional "conditions" for your new scan you can do so. Personal Note: Myself, since I only trade options, on all my scans I have added the condition "Optionable." For me, looking at non-optionable stocks is a waste of my time since my trading system doesn't include trading stocks. You will note that on the right side of this box under "Count" will show you how many stocks match your conditions. If you are working with a pcf that is very rare like the "Abandoned Baby" chart pattern, you will probably not see any results since this pattern scans up only occasionally. A Word of Caution
Click "OK" and the "WatchList" will be on the "new scan" that you just created which will be the Marubozu White. If you followed these directions to the letter, you should have quite a few Marubozu White candlesticks in your "WatchList." With this type of scan set up, you will only have the Marubozu White candlesticks as results in opposed to only using the Marubozu White "pcf" as a sort. Now would be the time that you can change the "sort" for something else that you would want to filter or sort by. I personally like to use the sort "Price Percent Change 5-Day H." and set the ascending or descending based upon what I'm looking for. Everyone will have his or her own preference. You will need to repeat the steps above for ALL of the formulas that you have purchased and for EACH variation that you want to install. After you finish, click "Scan Charts." Additional Help Important Note Streaming Real Time Chart Patterns Personal Note: There is other real time charting software that I use in order to know when to buy and sell intra-day in order to get a better price when I enter or exit a trade or a spread for additional profits. I personally use TC2005 and the Candlestick Chart patterns as a trading system to tell me what DAY to buy or sell on and another real time software to tell me what TIME of the day to buy and sell at.
If you haven't done so already, download the FREE pcf of the White Marubozu Single Candlestick Chart Pattern formula to see how well it works with TC2005 Charting Software. Read the Testimonials from happy clients that have used our Japanese Candlestick pcf Chart Patterns.
