The Three White Soldiers bull is the counterpart of the Three Black Crows bear pattern. Occurring during a downtrend, and is representative of a strong reversal in the market with three long white days that are stair stepping upward. Each day opens slightly lower than the previous day's close then rallies to a new short term high. The opening prices of the second and third days can be anywhere within the previous day's body. However, it is better to see the open above the middle of the previous day's body. This type of action shows the downtrend has abruptly ended and sends a clear bullish message of a trend reversal.

The Three White Soldiers bull pattern suggests that the market has been at a low price for too long and investors are beginning to compensate for it. The market is in a downtrend and either approaching a bottom or is at the bottom. A decisive trend move to the upside is made with a long white day. The next two days are accompanied by further rallies with progressively higher closes. This type of price action has to take its toll on the bearish mentality as the bears are also covering their shorts.
